S​cott Eastwood a​nd T​eresa Palmer​ will be the 2​015 Maui Film Festival Rising Star Award​recipients, it was announced today by Barry Rivers, founder and director of the festival which will be held, and celebrate its 16th annual event from J​une 3­-7, 2015,​ at the Wailea Resort in Maui. The Maui Film Festival R​ising Star Award honors a​young film artist whose every role, even their formative years, surprises, enthralls and delights audiences of every age. T​he awards will be presented at the Opening Night of the Celestial Cinema located at the Wailea Gold & Emerald Golf Course on Wednesday June 3, 2015. Tickets and passes are available at​ w​​

Eastwood can be currently seen as bull­rider Luke Collins in THE LONGEST RIDE, an adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel, starring opposite Britt Robertson and Alan Alda. E​astwood will soon be seen in several high­profile films, including SUICIDE SQUAD, from Warner Bros., DC Comics, and director David Ayer, along with the untitled Oliver Stone film about Edward Snowden.​Eastwood’s other recent films include the World War II movie, FURY, alongside Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf, as well as the independent features, DAWN PATROL and WALK OF FAME. Eastwood also had a lead role in TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D and TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE. Eastwood’s other films include: INVICTUS, GRAN TORINO, FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS, CARMEL, AN AMERICAN CRIME and PRIDE.

Palmer has an explosive year ahead of her, starring in the highly anticipated remake of the 1990’s hit film POINT BREAK with Edgar Ramirez and Luke Bracey, the crime thriller TRIPLE NINE, starring as part of an all­star cast including Kate Winslet, Casey Affleck, and Woody Harrelson and Lionsgate’s THE CHOICE, starring with Benjamin Walker. She has also shot Terence Malick’s KNIGHT OF CUPS with Christian Bale and MESSAGE FROM THE KING with Chadwick Boseman. Palmer has previously been seen in many major films including Lionsgate’s WARM BODIES, Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg’s I AM NUMBER FOUR, the independent film THE EVER AFTER, which she also co­wrote and produced with Mark Webber, CUT BANK with Liam Hemsworth, the Australian film KILL ME THREE TIMES, Disney’s THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE and DECEMBER BOYS with Daniel Radcliffe.
